State of racial affairs is that African Americans are oppressed and should be treated equally. MLK has a positive outlook and Malcolm X is dwelling in the negativity the two men both fought for equal rights but their different point of views led them to different means for solving this problem. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on Tuesday, January 15, 1929 at the family home in Atlanta, Georgia. He lived with his parents, Reverend Martin Luther King Sr. and Alberta Williams King, as well as his grandparents and his two siblings. One day, Martin and his father went to buy some new shoes. The clerk told them to go to the back of the store. "We do not serve colored in the front of the store," he said. Martin and his father proceeded to leave the store. From then on Martin's life became a peaceful fight for rights. Malcolm was the seventh of eight children. Malcolm's father was killed after been run over by a car. Malcolm believed white racists were responsible for his father's death. In 1946 he was arrested for robbing and was sent to jail. When Malcolm was released from jail in 1952 he changes his last name to "X". Malcolm X traveled to Detroit, Michigan, where he worked with the leader of the Nation of Islam, Elijah Muhammad, to expand the movement's following among black Americans nationwide. Martin Luther King Believed that nonviolence was the key to gaining rights and to be treated equally. " We must not allow our creative protests to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of mending physical force with soul force.” In this quote he is basically saying that our peaceful protests must not turn into violent riots. To have the whole nation change is going to take a long time, he is prepared to wait for the people who still use derogatory terms/ are still racist. The “soul force” he is talking about is people will realize that what they are doing is wrong deep down in there “soul”. Malcolm x thought otherwise “We want justice by any means necessary. We want equality by any means necessary.” this means he was even willing to fight for his freedom. When he says the words “by any means necessary” he is saying he will even kill people he will do anything to anyone that stands in his way. Saying these things could have serious repercussions. If a young boy hears this speech and they could go out and start injuring/killing people. In a sense he is inciting a riot because he is telling people to follow his actions and if he is saying this, then that's why he wants you to do. The two men changed our nation for the better but they had different ways of getting to equality. Two legends in civil rights, both willing to die… one willing to kill and one willing to wait.

Ice Cube, walks into Jerry Heller’s hotel room, the smell of a vanilla Yankee candle spreads across the room as that is the only source of light. Except for a small desk lamp on the desk that Jerry is sitting at. “ Nice to see you cube” Jerry greeted O’shea Jackson. “ I barely see you Jerry, what’s up with all the godfather business.” “Look Cube here is your contract and $75,000 with your name on it.” (Cube trying to take the money from Jerry) “That's my money anyway Jerry why are you doing this, if we were so good in the first place why didn’t you give us contracts back then” “Because nothing is a sure thing Cube, you think everything is your how do you think everything gets paid for the girls the tour buss the hotels the music." “Why are you doing this now." "because you don't understand everything I've done for you" "I can't work like this I’m not singing this and screw Ruthless Records." The morning the tour bus returned to the home city of Los Angeles Cube says all his final goodbyes to all of his friends and left without saying a word to jerry just an unsigned contract. A few weeks later Cube goes to priority records and gets a solo album Which today is one of the greatest of Ice Cubes Productions. America’s Most Wanted went platinum and Cube was living the good life until one little slip up by his manager, he didn’t give Cube the money he earned in time and he was going to pay the price. He came in with a baseball bat and smashed all of the Platinum, Gold, and silver records on his walls. "Stop it cube ill get you your money" "I'm just taking out what you owe" The sound of screams bounced of the walls and the sound of glass shattering, cube leaves and says " Next time give me my money" Ice Cube is called into the main office at priority records one morning to listen to the new song N.W.A produced on there new album. As there listing the producer pauses the recording after they just dissed Ice Cube as the all the skeletons in his closets are coming out at once are all attacking him at once. Dr Dre sang the song One Hundred Miles Running but Easy-e, Mc-ren , and DJ yella are also all behind the song. Cube looks at the manger and says “We’re gona come back and it's gona be harder than ever and were gona knock them of the face of the earth.” Cube raced of to the recording studio and started to produce the song No Vaseline. The song was a diss track basically for the whole n.w.a crew especially Jerry Heller who was the “manager” of the group. The song was very explicit in the way that it embarrassed the whole group and used vulgar language hence the name no Vaseline. When Jerry and the whole crew heard about the song there first reaction was anger except for Mc ren who was laughing pretty hard about the whole situation, which he had the least amount of say in. When Jerry first said something he was engulfed in rage and threw his watch against the wall and it shattered into a million pieces. Eric wright (Eazy-E) said “he's Gona pay for all that.” Dr dre said “we can kill him that would really show him,” Jerry responded by saying “that would be that end of all his problems and a whole new storm for us.” Ice cube was reppin the good life in Hollywood with his new house after both his albums went platinum especially America’s Most Wanted which was certified September 6th 1991. Ice cube today ( Tuesday September 6th he celebrated it). Dr dre left the group but not by asking nicely he had the members of the record group he was going to join beat him senselessly until he signed the lease forms for Dr dre. He ended up joining Death Row Records ran by Suge Knight who was turning into a money and Fame crazed lunatic. Even after the group disbanded Mc-Ren stayed with Ruthless records and produced another platinum album, DJ-Yella didn't do much in the group and was the first one to leave. Eazy-e quickly went down a dark road and did a lot of drugs. He was still viewed as a threat and was trying to get the crew back together. Even though Eric wright is dead from an STD (A.I.D.S) when the group N.W.A was about to get back together when Dr Dre came to his house waiting for the other group members he passed out and smashed into his 10 ft long glass table and smashed it. The doctor diagnosed him and everyone came into the hospital and said their final goodbyes even though he died March 26th 1995, he will still live on as a legend in many people's hearts. Many people Believe he was murdered by Suge Knight when he put aide tainted needles at his acupuncture therapy. Ice cube however is becoming a movie star, He has Starred in over 50 hit movies/ Documentaries including, Boy’s in the hood, Ride along, Ride along 2, 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street, and the Barber Shop Trilogy. Ice cube is a very rich man and is very humbled by everything that his legendary friend has left behind for him. He will still post on his Instagram every now and again about the whole situation. |
